Montclair Women’s Club has once again become a sponsor to the S.O.F.I.A. Annual Walk against Domestic Violence. S.O.F.I.A. stands for Start Out Fresh Intervention Advocates, a nonprofit that provides advocacy, supportive services and referrals for temporary housing to “at risk” women and children of domestic violence. Liz Haigney-Lynch, our club president, is also our team captain for this event.
The walk is being held on Saturday, September 19th with registration at 9 am and the walk beginning at 10 am in Canterbury Park in the south end of Montclair. Registration is $20. You can pre-register here or arrive at 9am to register in person. We encourage you to bring a friend to join this important cause! The walk and the speeches are inspiring. We hope to see you there!
