Cairenn Binder will join us to talk about the amazing power being unlocked in the burgeoning new field of investigative genetic genealogy. As the Assistant Director of the Ramapo College Investigative Genetic Genealogy (IGG) Center, she regularly leads teams of students and volunteers to resolve violent crime and unidentified person cases. This will be fascinating for true crime enthusiasts and education junkies alike! Cairenn’s own journey to solving crimes with DNA began with a childhood obsession with the television show Unsolved Mysteries. In 2018 she served as one of the first volunteer investigative genetic genealogists, working with a nonprofit organization to identify human remains. In addition to her work with the IGG Center, Cairenn is a founding partner of Coast to Coast Genetic Genealogy Services, providing traditional and investigative genetic genealogy services since 2022.
