Wendy Ebo Jones, President of Ida Bell Publishing, will again bring a fascinating story of a historic woman, this time — Augusta Savage. Her name alone is fascinating. Who was she? A sculptor, activist, a luminary of the Harlem Renaissance, and the first gallery owner to exhibit and sell works by African American artists. Her most well-known work was the sculpture, Lift Every Voice and Sing, created for the 1939 World’s Fair.
